Hypnosis to Quit Smoking – Does It Work?
More and more people are opting to quit smoking due in part to increased government taxes on the price of cigarettes as well as the massive general public advertising campaigns that is making it abundantly clear to everyone that smoking actually does kill. Are you aware that more than half of smokers will die from the activity of inhaling more than 4000 chemicals with each cigarette? Regardless, more and more people are turning to their doctors, and other natural health providers looking for ways and means to end their cigarette smoking habit. Doctors are currently prescribing two varieties of anti smoking medications, and these include Champix and Zyban. Many people are having adverse reactions to such drugs and are consequently looking for more natural means to end their tobacco addiction. Hypnosis is one method that is gaining increased attention. There are a number of reasons for this and probably due in part to the fact that it’s quite a relaxing experience. Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness in which the hypnotherapist can offer hypnotic suggestions which work to change the beliefs and subsequent behaviour patterns of those being hypnotized. Those that wish to quit will find the hypnotist offering anti smoking suggestions, such as “you like being a non-smoker” and the like.
Hypnosis it seems has a reasonable success rate as long as the individual undergoing hypnosis wants it to actually work. A lot of smokers will partly wish to quit and some will still partly wish to smoke. Unless you are committed to the challenge of giving up – hypnosis will not work to help you stop smoking for good.
